Italy Photo Diary

It's taken me some time, but here are some of my favorite photos for a recent trip that Rob's family was nice enough to invite me on.

It's really hard to go to a location where you have already seen so many spectacular photos and try to do justice to these world famous landmarks, so I tried to capture more about the mood and atmosphere because you already know how beautiful this country is. *These are not in order*

It went like this; Rome, Florence, The Tuscan Countryside, Milan and Lake Como.

After only 10 days in Italy, I already wish I had the attitude towards life that Italians seem to have. Our trip was filled with history tours, amazing food and lots of wine - a tough 10 days I know. I spent the entire time in each location imagining my life if I lived there.

In Italy, life for everyone - tourist and locals - seemed to center on food, which is probably why I felt like I was exactly where I belong. I spent a lot of time people watching and I did not see a single overweight person there, which is what you would expect from a culture that drinks wine with everything, eats 3 course meals and slathers everything in olive oil. My only explanation is that this must come down to fresh preservative free food and walking everywhere.  So yes, I will take pasta, bread and wine without the weight gain any day!

As someone who also loves history, Italy is a dream. Can you imagine field trips and history lessons as a kid in a country with thousands of years of fascinating things to learn. What would it be like to come from a culture or one of the cultures that we owe so much of world history to? Italians deserve to be proud!

OOTD | Winter Hues

Beatles T and Raybans

Winter hues but not winter blues. I know pink and white are not that winter-ey but this winter has been amazing! It has only snowed one time, on Christmas, which is the only the day of year snow is welcome in my opinion. I sure could get used to that!

OOTD | Graphically Yours

Pants that don't stick to the body - a summer must for hot work days & bright green downtown bikes. Another hidden spot in Salt Lake with graffiti (most graffiti is SLC is covered within 24 hrs so it's fun to spot the artwork that lasts.)

OOTD | Double Denim

Sometimes it's so hard to get back into things. I don't know where time is slipping off too. Here is an outfit that  have been meaning to post for a while, as you can tell from the background.

OOTD | Trend Vomit

MISSGUIDED US - SHIRT, SHOES, BAG
PETER PILOTTO x TARGET - SWEATER

This outfit is one big trend jumble, they say you shouldn't combine too many but they all work so well. There is some mesh, perforation, pastel, platform sandals, midi skirt, checks, and sporty chic...that's not too many right? I think the sporty chic look is one of my favorite trends of all time.

Anyhow, this is also a very significant moment for my blog as this is the first time I am working with a brand. That brand being Missguided. It couldn't be a better fit seeing as it is very similar to one of my favorite sites - Nasty Gal - but British! Missguided now sells online to the US, making some fun style and British beauty products available to us here. Their tag line is 'peace, love and fashion' and they sell sort of edgy basics and trends. Lots of crop tops and form fitting dresses. I first discovered this brand through another blogger that resides in England before knowing that it was actually available here.

My love of England means I have an obsession with British brands and think they are somehow so much more cool and unique than all the brands in the States. I still remember when I checked Rivers Island everyday hoping to one day go to England to shop there (having since become available via the wonderful fashion ecomm boom.) So it makes me infinitely happy when others in the US can discover these oh so cool brands and products.

Outfit | Brighten Up

The weather won't make up it's mind. This is a little late because all the trees are finally starting to bloom with those stinky white blossom's, but I will make it quick.
